Lindau is a town and island on the eastern side of Lake Constance (Bodensee in German) in Bavaria, Germany. It is near the borders of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, and the Swiss cantons of St. Gallen and Thurgau.

Lindau is a popular tourist attraction in southern Germany. The gardens of Lindau are best in spring or summer blossom, and summer is the peak tourist period.
Lindau is famous for its architecture and outdoor attractions such as cycling, sailing, hiking, swimming, and camping. The 14th century tower Mangenturm is a tourist attraction overlooking the Lindau Harbor.
A popular tourist activity is to find a good seating place in one of the cafes by the Harbor and spend the time ‘people-watching’ while enjoying some tasty treats as evident by the photos below!

Lindau’s top attraction is the Harbour entrance with lighthouse and Bavarian Lion sculpture (Island of Lindau). A viewpoint for the tower, lighthouse and the Lion statue is accessed via walkway in the harbor. The lighthouse itself can be accessed via a path on the other side. However, that path may have limited access to visitors.

Nobel Laureate Meetings at Lindau is Lindau’s prestigious science event. Students from all over the world are able to meet up with Nobel laureates to discuss scientific developments.

The fall season is quieter in Lindau with sunset view of Lake constance and a walk by the lake and gardens a popular visitor activity.
