Grand Canyon West Excursions & Zip line Adventure

Grand Canyon West is a managed site at the north-west corner of Grand Canyon in Hualapai Native American reservation. It is a popular destination for its close proximity to Las Vegas, Nevada (unlike Grand Canyon National Park near Williams, AZ).

Some of the notable attractions at this site includes the Grand Canyon Skywalk, Helicopter Rides over the canyon, Guano Point with close access to hanging rock formations and Zipline excursions over the Canyon. The Grand Canyon West site attracts on average a million tourist annually.

The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge with a glass walkway at Eagle Point near the Colorado River, on the edge of a side canyon. The Skywalk’s elevation is 4,770 ft (1,450 m) above sea level and the Colorado River at the base of the canyon below is 1,160 ft (350 m). The vertical drop directly below the skywalk is 500 to 800 feet and the bottom has a clear view to the visitors walking on the skyline with open view of the canyon all around, providing many photo opportunities. Below pictures offer a summary of the attractions.

Frequent bus service connects visitors among the key stops in Grand Canyon West that includes – main parking lot and helicopter ride, Skyline at Eagle’s Point, Zipline excursion entry at Hualapai Ranch and Rock formation exhibits at Guano Point. The Zipline excursion takes visitors to the first launch point by a van. From there, visitors zip down over the canyon to the second launch point. The zipline at the second launch point is longer and connects to another viewpoint from where visitors are transferred back to the Van via ATVs.
