Red Rock Canyon is a canyon, nature park and mountain trail near Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This natural wonder attracts visitors from all over the world for its towering red sandstone cliffs, unique geological formations, and diverse wildlife.
Although famous for its quiet, natural beauty, the canyon is surprisingly close to large Nevada cities like Henderson and Las Vegas. We stayed in Las Vegas at the Hilton Elara (next to MGM Grand) during this trip to Nevada. This allowed us to explore some popular and scenic locations nearby such as Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and Red Rock Canyon.
The drive from our hotel to the Canyon entrance is little over 22 miles and takes 30-35 mins when not encountering rush hour traffic in Vegas. Once out of the metro area, it is a scenic drive through valleys and Mountains.
