One popular activity in Lake Washington is to rent a boat and enjoy a Saturday or Sunday doing fishing, stopping at various interesting points around the lake with family and friends. The interesting locations around the lake include the Boeing Factory, Mercer Island housing many billionaire properties, the highway connecting Seattle and West Bellevue, Pritchard Island Beach and Kirkland area where the wholesale outlet chain Costco originated.

Attractions in and around Seattle

If you have a few days to spend in Seattle, the city has much more to offer. Below are a few popular attractions in and around the city.

Seattle’s iconic landmark, the Space Needle, a legacy of the 1962 World’s Fair, offers panoramic views of the city. Surrounding the Needle are various museums, entertainment complex and freely accessible art exhibit garden where each piece tells a unique story of the city.

The historic Pike Place Market, bustling with vendors and street performers, is a sensory delight. For music lovers, the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) is a must-visit. A stroll through the enchanting streets of Capitol Hill is another popular activity.

A short drive outside of downtown Seattle is the West Seattle neighborhood. Here, the Hamilton Viewpoint Park offers a spectacular view of the cityscape. The West Seattle Water Taxi Pier offers a scenic view, delicious eateries and ferry ride back to the city center.

About 30 mins drive east of Seattle lies Snoqualmie Falls, featured in the 1990s cult TV series “Twin Peaks,”. The waterfall features scenic trails, a famous hilltop Inn and the 268-foot drop viewable from various observation points on a nature trail. Mount Rainer, one of the highest peak in North America, is about 2-hours drive from the city center.
