THE TRE CIME DI LAVAREDO

The Tre Cime di Lavaredo, or Drei Zinnen in German, are three distinctive battlement-like peaks, in the Sexten Dolomites of northeastern Italy. They are probably one of the best-known mountain groups in the Alps. 

The three peaks, from east to west, are:

  • Cima Piccola / Kleine Zinne (“little peak”)
  • Cima Grande / Große Zinne (“big peak”)
  • Cima Ovest / Westliche Zinne (“western peak”)

Once you arrive at the Rifugio Auronzo car park, you can start your hike to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The hike is a moderate hike, and it takes about 2 hours to complete. The hike starts at the Rifugio Auronzo and follows the path that leads to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The path is well-marked, and it is easy to follow.
